I am using the aetheros chipsset, i.e., using the madwifi. Under the latest update, the new kernel, 2.26.18 removes the madwifi rpm from the system. Does anyone know if they are going to update the madwifi repository or will I have to compile the source?
I don't speak for SGI in this forum.
Did you see David Rankin's post "Re: [opensuse] BUG: kernel 2.6.22.16-0.1-default Breaks Atheros Wireless [work around]"
At any rate, When the option to install the software was given, in my case, it mentioned that it was going to uninstall madwifi so I decided to wait. If you can't wait, it sounds like David's method should work.

Unfortunately, I was one of the people who got deleted from the mailing list during the last few days. I did not get any of the notification. I should have mention it in my e-mail. I update with Zypper and it does not give any warning. -- Joseph Loo jloo@acm.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
