I intsalled mysql in suse8.2. But the server does not start automatically when re-booting. Of course, you can manually start the server by issuing "/etc/rc.d/mysql start'. Could you please advise me how to let the server automatically start at booting?
Start up Yast, go to System->Run Level Editor, then click on the Runlevel Properties Button. You can start/stop/refresh the system processes, and by selecting from the Set/Reset button set them to start at boot. Select the mysql process, first.
Or just type 'chkconfig -a mysql' as root on a command line. ;) Ken
