Use "/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist", or modprobe.conf.local
Hmm.. How would that help? I was thinking more in the line of setting it up in YaST pci_id somehow, for HAL to use it?
I haven't the foggiest idea about how to do that. However... Bugzilla? The system should do the correct thing, and it doesn't, so, report it. Meanwhile, hack it up so that it works for you.
If I blacklist the sata_mv module, it won't load the right one anyway.. Right?
It won't load the wrong one, at least! ;-) Then, it might figure out the correct one, or maybe not. Then, you can force loading the correct one by any of the usual manners: /etc/init.d/boot.local, or /etc/sysconfig/kernel (MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT). - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
