Hi all,
I have an application that requires me to use Xfree86 4.3.99 instead of X.org.
Why? 4.3.99 should be completely compatible with X.org. In fact, I think it was 4.3.99 that was the first version that got renamed to X.org
What's it complaining about?
The application is Maya, the requirements are very particular. They've only qualified certain specifications for Suse at all. All of them are for 4.3.99. I've done tonnes of version testing on 9.1 and the application crashes with Signal 11 (unknown signal, this is a openGL signal), if I have upgraded to X.org. This is the exact same problem I've had with Fedora Core and Red Hat, the X version is very important here.
