If you are going to just be printing text get an OKI
Microline 520 and set it up as a generic text printer. You
will save alot of money on buying ribbons instead of
cartridges.

Epson. I am using the C84. Uses the separate cartridges is inexpensive and will run on either parallel port or USB.
