I'm trying to connect my home machine running SuSE 8.1 to my network at work, so that I can browse and use files on a server at work. I installed the PPTP-Client package from Sourceforge, but the instructions presume a fluent knowledge of networking command syntax (like adding routes), which I do not have. My home Linux machine dual boots Windows 2000, and that VPNs in just fine to the Windows 2000 VPN server at the office. So, I just need to get Linux to the same thing! FWIW, the connection to the server at work from my home machine looks like this: Home Machine ==> D-Link 704P DSL modem/router/firewall ==> Verizon/Westell DSL modem ==> Internet ==> Cisco PIX 520 Firewall ==> W2K VPN server at 206.26.206.115. The D-Link box performs DHCP and assigns the same private IP address to my home machine (192.168.0.247). The PIX firewall performs NAT for the network at work. I understanding networking concepts; I'm just new to Linux and haven't fussed with networking at the command-line level since my OS/2 days, several years ago. Thanks!
