I'm no wizard at building web sites, but I've noticed while attempting to build a site or checking a friend's web site, all done under Linux with quanta, nvu, etc., the site will display OK in konqueror and be all messed up in firefox.
Hmm, that is strange. Did you check your pages with a HTML- or CSS- validator?
It cries out for a common standard to be adopted,
There is a common standard (actually there are more than 1, see http://www.w3.org/), but their implementation by browsers leaves some room to differ slightly. But alas, AFAIK at the present time there is no browser fully compliant with the CSS2 standard, and browsers differ in what parts are implemented. It just takes some time to comply with standards, and sometimes developers develop and implement their own standards, and even think they can get away with that (IE). They won't. Cheers, Leen
