I think you might find, for all the hollering, that most people would rather spend their time working with YaST2 - either learning how to use it efficiently, sending feedback to get SuSE to make it do what they want, or, in extreme cases, adding features themselves. I'm sure SuSE would be very grateful for contributions of the latter. Personally I commend SuSE for taking the step. The computer world is full of too much legacy crap which is not relevant or efficient in the modern world.
