I will not single out threads, nor presume to be in some kind of moral high ground when condemning such behaviour, but maybe some definite action from the list moderator is in order. Freedom of speech has nothing to do with people insulting each other on a public/archived list.
SLE isn't moderated and I really don't want to start having to unsubscribe people for being rude. Just killfile them so that you are sure to never answer any of their questions. -- -ckm
