Hi,
You were right almost. I tried Kmix but no avail.
Then I went to Yast and under Hardware -> Sound there
were some 9 or 10 setting all set to '0' by default. I made
all of them to '100' and now I am able to hear the song.
At last I started loving SuSE :).
Have a great day.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your mail. My SuSE 8.2 is at Home. I will go home tonight try and let you know. One person suggested me to upgrade XFree but that would take some time.
One thing i would like to share with you is. With my first installation sound worked but my 2nd, 3rd installation it didnt work. My 4th installation is almost similiar to my first one but couldnt get it to work. Hope i wouldnt have to do 5th installation :).
Have a great day.

I found something about it. You have to look in the Kmix settings. Open the mixers "viadxs" and use "pcm" for the level. "master" won't work. Just try that or something else.

Hy,
I use normal my PCI sound card and not the onboard AC97, because i have problems to. But after your mail in the suse-list i look at it, and found this. Now i am using my PCI again. It's very strange with the AC97, sometimes all is working and the next moment nothing :'( So i can only tell you to look and try something in Kmix. Evan with my Ensoniq Creative PCI sound card there were some problems for a long time, so i think the have to look at it. :-(
