OK, I checked the gimp pluginrc and gimp-print does not appear. I renamed pluginrc and another was created, again without any mention of gimp-print.
All I can add is that I haven't encountered this particular problem. Occasionally I have had to delete the entire .gimp-1.2 directory when experimenting with bits of code and that always fixed the problem. JDL
