* David C. Johanson (dcjohan@patriot.net) [011110 13:13]: ->Ben - -> -> I have a working version of 7.1 running with very few problems, most ->of which are my fault for not venturing forward with a replacement for ->netscape. I've purchased the 7.3 pro and want to do an upgrade to what i ->currently have. I've installed turboprint (commercial license) and the ->licensed version of the OSS sound drivers because i neded both to get ->each application to perform appropriately. Do you have any advice that I ->might need prior to performing the upgrade; i don't want to contaminate ->what I already heve working. Well, I don't use OSS..I've used Alsa since it start supporting my SBlive properly..but I do know that you can get a free upgrade that should work with the newest kernel. I would get that and have it on hand ready to install. I know absolutely nothing about Turboprint so I can't be of help there. What I did was check the box that says upgrade only installed RPM's..so it will look at your rpm db and if it has a new version then the installed version it will update this. It worked very well for me. If you have any issues I am sure that we (list) can help you solve them. :) -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal" -AE
