Hi
Does anyone else have this as an issue? The system gets the "System Halted" message but does not do the next step of turning the machine off. (i pressed ESC after selecting shutdown to watch the text display of the shutdown process)
Is there a configuration item for this or does it sound like a bug?
regards
Ian Yes I have been seeing this since 12.2 came out. Last week after several updates, not sure which rpm, it worked for two shutdowns and then went back to not powering off.
Last message when esc is used is
[ xxxxxxx xxxxxx Powering down}
The external usb disk intermittantly flashes but everything is hung up. Only way out is the power off button. I tryed both as user and root, same results. I've gone thru all the suggested fixes in mail lists and formans, etc. None fix it. If I boot into my 12.1 disk, powerdown works! 12.2 was a fresh install and has all update thru Monday of this week.
