Is there a configuration item for this or does it sound like a bug?
It sounds _very_ familiar, but you haven't mentioned what you're trying to log off from, or how. What happens if you try shutdown or reboot logged in as root? Is sysvinit-init installed? Is KDM installed? GDM? Search the list archives from a month or three ago and you'll probably find what's needed. </snip> I am trying to log off from KDE4.9.4 release 1. Problem was here on 4.9.3 and earlier KDE Versions. KDM is installed. sysvinit-init is not installed. systemd-sysvinit, sysvint and sysvinit-tools are installed. I assume these were installed by YaST. As I selected systend as the default.
I did look at the archives and none fixed it, but I'll go back and review them again. I have not actually logged in as root from KDM (Inhibited) but have tried su, su- and sudo all with same results. I'' enable KDM log in and see if root makes a difference. Will post results soon. Thanks for your imput.
