I only have one experience, and that's HP LaserJet 3200. The printer support for it is good, and the scanner part is even supportet through ptal, a bit tricky but usable. However, the fax portion, is as far as I know totally unsupported, and must therefore be used by hand on the device itself. Don't know much about others, but that one works adequately. Has anyone here had any real life experience w/ the combo printer/copier/scanners ?/ I noticed in 8.2 that there seemed to be some sort of drivers for a couple of them.. ( mainly the HP versions, and possibly a lexmark as well. I didn't follow up on the hows and whys of them as there were none in my immediate future. But now, there's a possibility .. and I wondered what other's experiences of such items has been?
from what I recall...as long as you get the PPD (postscript printer description file), you're all set to go. For CUPS, you add this file and now the CUPS print server can "see" all the features of the new combo printer device you have. Most good quality printers have Postscript drivers available for download from their vendors.
