Hello, I cannot seem to find how to keep copies of rpm packages downloaded by Yast. I know this used to be configurable, has it gone irrevocably? I want to save them in case I rubbish my current system

Make sure that the box for Remove Source Packages after update is not ticked (bottom of screen when the patches are actually being downloaded).
The patches are in /var/lib/YaST2/you/mnt/i386/update/10.0/rpm/i576 and noarch.
You need to be root to copy them to another place.
Cheers.
I should have said that this is when using OSS 10.0. There's no sign of the checkbox on any screen I see. Geoff
