So a couple of weeks ago I sent the encl. message to the list. Getting no answer, I sent of to SuSE Install support, who responds that install support does not cover my tape drive because it is not required to get a "basic system up and running" !@#$ that, who is always saying to back up? (tech suppt is) And anyway the SuSE install cd does not even boot when the tape dr is hooked to the machine, which sounds like a suppt issue to me) SO I enclose my segfault one more time in the hopes that: a) someone will have an answer for me b) SuSE suppt will remove their heads from assorted orifices c) someone will have another site / list in mind that might help me out Find original mssg below. Thanks for your time. ________________________ Drive is Tecmar 20Gb, system is 6.4 w/ suse kernel, drive is correctly recognized by bios @ boot time. If I leave the ide-tape in kern, I die @ boot.
