Hello list, Problem: from time to time, the NFS server fails to fully start at boot. The "modprobe nfsd" has clearly happened, but the nfsd kernel threads are not present. Mount requests from clients are rejected with "RPC program not registered". If I then "rcnfssserver start" by hand, everything is started properly. I've looked at the logs, but there's no error message. The usual NFS startup entries are just not there.
Quick Google search hasn't turned anything up.
Has anyone else seen this ?
Perhaps... Yes, sometimes I can't connect from the client; I try restarting both server and client, and finally it works.
I sometimes also experience the same problem in 11.1. Using traditional network method; in my case, I remove the nfs init script from the run level at boot time, and call it from /etc/init.d/after.local in client. No need to modify nfsserver configuration in the nfs server. After that the client can access to the nfsserver. regards, -- medwinz ======================= http://medwinz.blogsome.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
