[08-22-05 07:48]: Why is it that when somebody holds a view contrary to another list member they get told that they are a 'newbie' in a derogatory manner? To be a newbie is not a sin, it is not a crime and so - IMHO - should not be used in a derogatory manner as it has been applied to myself earlier in this thread.
You, yourself, made the implication, then take offence without showing cause. Derogatory manner??? The comment had nothing to do with a contrary opinion, but with the calculated observation.

well this is the first one that I have ever known to do things in this way.
Hummm, newby
Perhaps a question mark after 'newby' would have lent more understanding?

I beg to differ, Patrick. I did not make that remark. Perhaps the way the post has been cut has caused some confusion? If you look at the quote marks you will see that the 'newby' comment came after I had made my comment. One thing I would never do is to use the term newby in a derogatory manner. In fact, I wouldn't even call somebody a newby with spelling. I tend to spell it newbie :-) -- Take care. Kevan Farmer 34 Hill Street Cheslyn Hay Staffordshire WS6 7HR
