Hello. New opensuse user. I am used to the Ubuntu package management policy which puts most packages online with only a few on installation CD. After installed OpenSuSE 11.0 I immediately dumped my installation DVD thinking I no longer need them 'cos I should be able to pull needed packages from online. First software I want to install is Opera, my preferred browser. In "Software Management" I choose Opera and "install", then it tells me the DVD is not accessible. Since I already dumped the DVD, I go to "Software repositories" and disabled the DVD source, leaving the online oss and online non-oss enabled, thinking the package manager will pull from online instead. Then I go to "Software Management", surprisingly find the opera package could not be found. Search for Opear package returns 0 results. So what should I do? Re-burn the DVD (took me 5 days to download it!) and install Opera from DVD? I could download a copy from Opera website instead but I wonder what's OpenSuSE user's recommended way to do that. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
