Hi, many thanks for the replies to my email about my booting difficulties. they pointed me in the right direction for solving the problem - i told my bios to 'auto configurewith optimal settings', then just had to enable usb to make it all work! I can now boot to linux via the MBR, and have got as far as configuring my internet connection. problem - the screen image does not fill the monitor screen - there is a black border several cms wide all the way round. my video card is a SiS AGP SVGA 4096. how can i fix this? thanks again, dave chapman, stroud, uk.
i would say you should adjust your monitor, i.e. the horizontal & vertical size..... its normal that if you use a video mode for that your monitor hasnt been configured before, you have to adjust it...... greets, chris -- visit me at http://mamalala.de
