Hi,
After my several unsuccessful tries, now based on info from the web I managed to install UT2003 on SUSE Linux 10.0. (Yes, original German box, containing 3CDs, reg. code, etc.) I was extremely happy to see it on the harddisk, but running it as user (or even root) resulted the same error message:
agika:~ # ut2003 C++/ Script class size mismatch
History:
Exiting due to error agika:~ #
When running it not from console, but e.g. from K-menu resulted the splash of the game came up for few seconds, then disappeared...
I'm very disappointed now, but didn't find any corresponding info on Google how to get the game up and running. Please, did anyone overcome this kind of annoying error?!
Thanks, Pelibali
Games, myfavorite part of Linux, I have succesfully got a few of my alltime favorites running no Problemo, they include ut2003, ut2004, Doom, Doom3, Quake, quake3 arena, Black & White, Need for speed Underground, ...
Hi Chadley, I keep kind of putting off playing with 3d games on Linux, but having deleted the last Windoze installation on my machines a couple of years ago I ought to start - holiday season coming up, after all. If you had to nominate two or three websites that would provide most info for the *novice* Linux gamer, setting things up for the first time, which would they be? I realise the web is absolutely soaked in information, but most of what I've seen relies on a level of understanding I've yet to reach, and goes over my ancient head. Cheers Fergus
All the games have install scripts on there CD's or the websites, I know that quake and ut2003 the scripts are on the respective website. the others have the scripts on the last CD of the pack.
