You did not clarify that. you said that you did an update, then you said that you were using "zypper dup". The obvious conclusion is that you used zypper dup to do the update. And still you do not give a link to who or where told you do do a zypper dup, and for what.

No. But we do not have the complete picture. You could, for instance, explain what you have done, exactly, and what is it you want to achieve.
