That happened to me recently. I plugged my Linux box into the network at my workplace, and entered the automatic proxy configuration url into Firefox. It worked fine. Next I entered the same proxy url into Konqueror. It just froze with no indication of what was wrong. I asked our network admin, and he just said that Konqueror is known not to work with our proxy, but he did not explain why.

If you want pathetic, consider the version of Lotus Word Pro that I bought many years ago. You had to install it to obtain the installation instructions. Or the Microsoft Word spellchecker (In Australia at least) that insisted "Okalahoma" was correct. I think this applied from Word 97 at least to Word 2000, I have not used Word for some years now. Or people who can't open text file attachments. Andy Goss
