Hello World!
I just got my mplayer up and running on my Suse 7.2. I can play a lot of my
mpg's, avi's and stuff, but I can't play any of my dvd's. I installed css,
and I'm sure it's not the problem. It seems that no matter what I do, I can't
get it to read from the dvd-drive.
Here's what I did:
mbs03@paladin:~ > mplayer -vo x11 -vm -dvd /dev/dvd
/dvd/video_ts/vts_01_1.vob MPlayer 0.17a-IdegCounter (C) 2000-2001 Arpad
Gereoffy Reading config file: /etc/mplayer.conf: No
such file or directory
Reading config file: /home/mbs03/.mplayer/config
Reading /home/mbs03/.mplayer/codecs.conf: 15 audio & 26 video codecs
Font /home/mbs03/.mplayer/font/font.desc loaded successfully! (140 chars)
DVD: cannot open DVD device "/dev/dvd".
I checked up on that "/dev/dvd"-thing. The file is a link to "/dev/sr1". My
dvd-drive is a pioneer-scsi-drive on a adaptec 2940 along with a dvd-ram and
a plextor cd-burner. I guessed that sr1 might had something to do with
scsi-id. I confirmed that when I read the /var/log/boot.msg.
But now I'm out of any ideas. Anyone of you have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
