What could be my problem here?
Can you take a look at /var/log/boot.msg? If so, look for entries relating to your cd-rom. Is it identifying it as the /dev/hdc device or some other device? For example, I emulate scsi for cdrecording purposes and it's /dev/sr0
That log shows no cdrom drive and now that I look at it only one ide interface ide0. Shoudl it show two? I know that the bios doesn't see it either, not does windows 98. What is weird is that this happened with no changes I could see, and has now happened on another machine. -- Bob Rea Freedom is only privilege extended unless enjoyed by one and all --Billy Bragg rear@sirius.com rrea@askjeeves.com http://www.sirius.com/~rear -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
