Go to www.theregister.co.uk and read the article, "Novell eyes lean, mean Linux".
The American bean-counters are well entreched.
Cheers.
i don't think this will have a big impact on Suse Linux as we know it... i think it just means that Novell will offer an Enterprise Linux (based on Suse Linux) which will be pretty lean when it comes to package offerings. But i believe Suse will continue to develop and release Suse Linux as we know it.
I hope you are correct.
But on what do you base your belief ? Do you have info in Australia that is not commonly available in Germany and the US?
Just thinking about it (with absolutely NO info to base it on) I suspect Novell is building its replacement for Netware.
Hartmut Meyer is a SuSE employee. I suspect he knows what he's talking about
How is that germain?
He is both german and germane.
Davy Brion is not a SuSE or Novell employee, and he is the one to whic the question was posed.
I merely pointed out that Mr. Meyer posted in this thread with the scoop on what the register article was about, thus negating the need for idle speculation and guess work, since he does have "info to base it on"
