Thank's again Togan. What I needed was to put the unicode mapping table for ISO 8859-1 fonts 'iso01' in CONSOLE_SCREENMAP in /etc/rc.config, so now I have swedish and icelandic symbols in text mode. But there are still two problems left to figure out: 1. In a terminal in GUI I still don't have these symbols.
Now not that I know the answer 100% but this is what I have (I am using turkish which is iso8859-9) A)You have to tell the Xserver your icelendic and and sweedish fonts (in your XF86Config or you can manually do it with xset +fp /mysweedishfonyts/) B)You have to configure your keymap file for the Xserver (use of xkeycaps helped me series xap) The most important have had a look to the sweedish howto and or icelandic howto documents
2. How can I switch between two different keymaps in text mode?
You may have to write a shell script file to change your keyboard driver Hope it helps -- Togan Muftuoglu toganm@turk.net 100% MS FREE Absolutely no component of Microsoft was used in the generation or posting of this e-mail.
