If you're into basic, black-screen Unix-like stuff, I think Essential System Administration, by Aeleen Frisch ought to be on you bookshelf. I wish I had the time to really get into it, but it is a lot clearer than many other books out there. I've had the 2nd Ed. for a couple of years, and yes she does recognize Linux. Perhaps she already has a version dedicated to Linux, I haven't looked lately. (I try to stay out of bookstores: they always cost me money!) --doug At 10:50 10/07/2002 -0400, Jerry Feldman wrote:
O'Reilly books tend to be pretty decent. Running Linux 4th Edition, by Matt Welsh, Lar Kaufman, Matthias Kalle Dalheimer and Terry Dawson. Matt Welsh started the Linux documentation project. Lar is a long time member of the Boston Linux and Unix user group. http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/runux4/
