But the "rules and conventions" are nothing more than "rules and conventions" and are not set in stone: they are simply guidelines which are subject to peer pressure to be "enforced". And to be "enforced" by whom? By one person who is persuaded to enforce them if he is lobbied to do so by some unknown person or persons and if he is in the mood to act. In other words, the process is simply SUBJECTIVE.
Very true, but my main point was that whatever people write in their sigs is (or should be) treated exactly like the rest of the posting.
