I have lots of cool tools I use in NT that just aren't available to me in Unix/Linux.
Could you name just one or two? Are these MS-provided tools, or something else?
BackOrifice and Netbus?
Hmmm. I think there is a BO client for Linux... not that I use it.
I presume the Back Orifice referred to here is a sarcastic reference to Back Office, not the cracking trojan. Last I looked, the BO trojan was impossible on any *nix. I don't know about Back Office.
I read an article that said Back Orifice 2000 (BO2K) source code looked just like VNC with the password code removed. If this is true, then BO2K would be possible, but only if installed by an inept sysadmin - you know, those guys that use their root account for routine e-mail. I think the probability of success of a BO2K server running under Unix/Linux is small (there is a large difference between Unix SysAdmins and NT admins), so the cDc hasn't wasted their time on it. Their time is better spent violating Windows users. -- George Toft http://www.georgetoft.com Certified NACSE Senior Network Specialist, Master of Science Information Systems Linux/Unix System Administrator Web Master Network Administrator --> Looking for the right job in Ontario, California <-- __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
