Couple of problems from your test config. One, it's for XF86 3.x, the Radeon's are only supported in the XF86 4.x and higher. Make sure you have XF86 4.x installed.
Try starting sax with this command "sax2 -m 0=ati" or "sax2 -m 0=radeon", this will start SaX2 off already using the right driver, then you can adjust the settings.

When I execute the command: XFree86 -version This is what I get: XFree86 Version 4.2.0 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) Release Date: 23 January 2002 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/) Build Operating System: SuSE Linux [ELF] SuSE Module Loader present So it looks like I already have 4.2. Is there something else that I have to do to the config file? Thanks, Darrell
