Speaking of irritating things.. Why doesn't SuSE list MYSQL on the web page for Linux Professional along side Postgres?
Our database guru, who worked for far more than a decade in the core team to develop the Informix and Sybase databases on the 'bottom half' (that's the core of the core, the other stuff would 'only' be SQL-parsing and query optimization), says about MySQL: It's a 'grep' with a SQL frontend. About PostgreSQL: That is indeed a real database! Hey, I only say what he told us... plus, 'grep' doesn't mean it's bad, I use grep a lot...
