Hi!
I've checked for "compile.h" with
find / -name 'compile.h' -print
but could not find it anywhere on my box.
Why is it missing and where can I get a proper copy?
It's missing because you didn't install it. :-) On my 7.2 system, compile.h is part of the python-devel.rpm. You really should get a copy of the ARCHIVES file for your suse version, and learn to search it. It contains a list of all files, and which rpms they are in. -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
