I implemented RAID 0 during the installation, with no apparent problems, however I see the following occurring in my boot log (this is hopefully the relevant part that I snipped):

I setup software RAID when I installed 8.0, and it went smooth and has been running very nice since the install (1 1/2 yr). I have since upgraded to 8.2. Mine says the same thing, and has since the beginning IIANM. I believe it does several checks, all of which might not be applicable to software RAID. At any rate, mine has worked flawlessly for 1 1/2 years, so my suggestion is, don't fix what ain't broken.
Thanks for this and for using your crystal ball to guess I was using software RAID! Good to see that it is likely NOT to be a problem. I will leave well alone for now. Appreciate your reply -- Regards, Roland Hill
