Does not list the HP Laser Jet Pro M477fdw in their supported printers list.
But the HP developers site: https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/in...
does list it. How does one know what to trust.
hp provides the linux drivers for their supported printers. in my experience, they are good and work well.
openprinting only reports their experience and what users report to them. searching their site for my "HP Officejet Pro 8620" provides:
Comments For basic printing functionality use the HPIJS driver . For advanced functionality such as printer status, maintenance features, scanning and photo card unload use the HPLIP driver (which includes HPIJS).
Consumables/Refills: 4 cartridges: one for each color of CMYK. Also 4 replaceable printheads.
and my printer/scanner works perfectly with the hp provided linux drivers, hplip.
your M477fdw may be too new for openprinting.
Thanks. Amazon says it was available in 2015, so I did not consider it new. But??? Don -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
