i get the same thing with my desktop and mouse if i am using the scroll wheel and i accidentally push too hard on it -- that causes a middle-mouse button event which you can configure in firefox
i strongly suspect you are having middle mouse button events triggered by your touchpad

Yes you do. The mouse wheel is a button as well as a wheel. The default action for pushing it is "paste"
