How do I change the resolution that's used during booting (when the progress bar is displayed, or F2 for details).
I have changed vga=0x318 in grub, but the nice SUSE blue background is lost after the kernel has loaded and init is running.
Thanks.

mkinitrd -help
One of the parameters of mkinitrd is "-s size", but it's not clear what the precise format of "size" is, and there's no manpage for mkinitrd. Do you know of any more detailed information?

0x318 is 1024x768, so your command would be: mkinitrd -s 1024x768 You need to make sure the Grub setting and your initrd settings are the same, as I don't believe you can arbritarily set one different from the other, else you might not boot.
