Once cups is installed, all you have to do to install a printer is:- 1) Using your favourite web browser type in the following location localhost:631/admin
Hi, Graham: Did the delete lprold thing, I think. I removed the paper.ps and paper.txt files from the directory. Went to YaST and deleted CUPS and CUPS DRIVERS. Installed CUPS and CUPS DRIVERS. ran locate on CUPS and returned about five times the number of files I had previously with YaST2!!! Now, the http://localhost:631/admin command returns a "cannot connect to localhost" message. I can do http://localhost:901 for Samba. So, went to /etc/services and checked 631. This is ipp for printer protocol. Tried ipp://localhost:631/admin, but that didn't work either. Any other options? Thanks, Tom
