I've not tried loading USB or infra-red modules on installation, but SuSE does have a selection of floppy images and modules discs for a manual install.
This may be the answer. You are prompted to select the modules you wish to run whilst you are doing the install.
Indeed - but if you cannot interract with the machine to make your keyboard work because your keyboard doesn't work because it needs drivers you have to manually load by using your keyboard....
