What makes you think so? What's the output of lspci -vv?
lspci shows that the device is present and dmesg shows that the device is turned on and that the ide0 and ide1 ports are available.
My motherboard is a P35 based Gigabyte with a Celeron E1200 overclocked to 3.2Ghz.
That's the first thing I'd set to normal when trying to pinpoint the culprit!
That didn't make any difference. I did try setting it back. No change. I don't know that I've personally ever seen hardware problems like that due to overclocking. I've googled, and it doesn't seem like many people have much luck with this card.
