Getting back to the original topic... I found that the error was due to SCIM. I had to add the following to my .bashrc "export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=kde". ----- Original Message -----

No, but if you've had seen how my screen looked like, you would have probably not have thought about that. Beside that: SysRq does not exist on my keyboard, this is a desktop. But it was funny to see the screen getting all garbled up..lol..
All the keyboards I have seen have SysRq or SysReq on the Print Screen key. I don't know what control function you need to access it--shift, or ctrl, or alt, or what.
PrintScreen is there....
