Desktop Environment Features Compared: window placement on startup

Gnome seems to be canceling ever more functionality with every release. Used to be, when my system came up from a cold start or a reboot, all the windows were in the same place as when the system was shut down. Now gnome just puts all the windows in a senseless pile on the left side of of the screen. How do other desktop environments-- e.g., Mate, Enlighten, KDE-- handle this? Thanks.

systemd automount units are dying ?

Anbox

Hi, did anyone manage it to run Anbox or any other as much featured Android emulator on openSUSE (preferably TW) to run? Installation of Anbox <https:// docs.anbox.io/userguide/install.html> requires kernel modules and snap, which don't see to be available. Quick installation report on 15.3

Yesterday, I installed 15.3 on a xen guest - the minimal server pattern. In summary - fast and easy and nothing much to comment on. Minor observations - - when reviewing "Automatic Changes", the list starts at the end. - "cannot save ntp config because chrony is not installed" - needless prompt. - final pop-up, "the system will reboot now" - no time-out ? "Performing Installation" - an hourglass character/icon until the ETA can be estimated, nice touch! I see some fonts (adobe, cantarell, google) are being installed, which doesn't make much sense, but they don't take up much space or time. ISTR it having to do with the release notes or some such? The two prompts are a little annoying, coz they mean I have to be present to hit "OK", otherwise the install will be held up. A relatively easy solution might be to break the grep appart and not use regular expressions for the second component: grepmail -h '^Message-[Ii][Dd]' | grep -F "$MSGID" Michael

Hotspot authentication problem - 15.2

I just tried setting up a WiFi hotspot, using the network manager in Leap 15.2/KDE. I have tried both long and short passwords and get authentication error when I try to connect to it. In Windows 10, on the same computer, the hotspot works with the same password. Any ideas? tnx jk

Which OpenVPN

I see in Yast Software Management that OpenVPN 2.5.1 is installed, but 2.4.3 is available. Why's that? 2.5.1 is from vendor obs and 2.4.3 from the main repository. I don't recall enabling obs.
