I found out when I tried to put a Win-XP VM on a 16 GB USB key just how slow those are compared with ordinary disk access. I mean, I already knew that, but it wasn't really obvious just *how* bad it was until I could see controls and buttons on an application getting drawn one at a time. I moved that VM to an ordinary external HD with a USB 2.0 connection, and it was quite usable. Not as convenient to move from one computer to another, granted, but it made the difference between works and doesn't work. [opensuse] Problem booting KDE Live CD

Hi all: I am trying to boot theOpensuse 10.3 KDE Live CD on my Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop, but I am running into a problem. CDrom not found is the error message after booting. It then reboots. I have tried the APM, ACpi boot options with no luck. Can anyone help get me around this problem so that I can try the distro out? -- Yours, Ralph. [opensuse] cups and Windows

Hi, Okay, after playing around a little bit for a while i still gotta come and ask here. I got my printer setup on my suse 10.1 server system and i can print just fine with my Suse 10.2 client but not with the Windows client(s). In Windows i can browse for the printer and it shows it up nicely. Double click tells me that it'll download the driver to the system but then it still can't find it and i will need to install it manually. Anyways, once done this, i can nicely add it to my windows printer(s) but when i try to print something it tells me "Access denied, unable to connect". I'm not reallly sure what's wrong since i can print from my suse 10.2 client just fine. Can anyone help me? This would be appreciated! [opensuse] initrd

hey all, its been awhile since i've had to compile a kernel, but i had to for some things and i've installed it with no real issue, the thing is that I used the old initrd file for my boot loader. Therefore it didn't seem to load the new modules. Makes sense i guess. Anyway, i'm on a ppc and i have not found an easy way to create an initrd image.
