It's made be Mextel and has 20 keys which are FULLY programmable as macros. Plugs in between computer and regular keyboard. It's saved me a LOT of time in programs in which I have written a lot of macros. Don't know where you would get it as I've had mine for almost ten years now. Hello SusE, All problems have been sorted! Spent an hour in the card diagnostic utility, to find the problem wasn't with SuSE at all, but the card setup. Thanks to all those that took the time to reply! Best Wishes, Lee.

Hello Alex, SuSE, Thank you for the in-depth response. Unfortunately I tried (what I could) of this, without success. I'm using 6.0 with the 2.0.36 kernel. Really, what I need is someone with virtually the same setup as me, i.e. a linux machine with ipfwadm set-up to allow other machines to access the Internet, and 2+ other Linux machines on the same network which use the first linux machine as a gateway. If someone has this setup, could they please send me their route.conf file? Burning CD's as non-root?

I am trying to set up xcdroast to be able to burn cd's as a non-root user. By following the documentation, I have been able to run the program as non-root, and to create data images. However, I can not create an image of an audio cd, nor can I write a data image to the cd. When I try to create an audio image from cd, I get the following error: "open: Permission denied" When I try and write the data image I get the error: "/usr/X11R6/lib/xcdroast-0.96e/bin/cdrecord-1.6.1: Operation not permitted. Cannot do mlockall(2)" Does anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it? Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance, Brad. PS: Maybe it would help if I say it's a scsi cd writer, a Compro 7502. How does anyone know how to initiate Gnome on SuSE Linux 6.1? I tried startx gnome, but that didn't work...do I need to change some settings in some system file? Hi, I'm sending this again as no-one has responded to me, I hope someone can help. :-( ------- Well, I finally got myself another network card today for the new machine. However, I can't seem to get it to see the rest of the network or the gateway. :( This is how the network is currently set up: [3 machines]--------[SuSE box]---[modem]----**Internet** | (hub) I tried to ping several machines on the network (with their ips') but get 100% packet loss, and no lights flash on the hub. (second attempt, never seen the first) Hi kepe! I grabbed it but it seems similiar to other TCP loggers, what I need is a daemon that will log my flow and give me totals per day week etc in KB or MB. I cannot see a way to do this.
