Pero he instalado la 10.2 en un ordenador de la oficina donde tenia la 10.0 (que me iba bien).
Si te va bien, espera a que se termine el soporte dee sa versión y luego actualizas... lo que funciona (regla de oro) es mejor no tocarlo

Y pongo los Cdś, ajusto la red para poder conctar con el ruter a internet (ok), instalo los 3 repositorios que ofrece, actualizo (ok). entonces entro en mi usuario y en l pantalla al principio bien

Algunas ideas (pensando en voz alta...):
- Si se ha instalado bien (la instalación ha finalizado completamente) y el problema te lo da al iniciar la sesión, pensaría que se puede tratar de algún conflicto / problema con los controladores, en este caso preciso, de la tarjeta / sistema gráfico.
- Para tener una idea más clara del error, sería conveniente revisar los errores del registro que están donde siempre, a mirar el /var/log/warn, messages, x.org, y el de sesión de KDE.
- Dices que el equipo se queda en negro y reinicias, pero ¿has probado a abrir un terminal (con control+alt+f2) e iniciar una sesión sin entorno gráfico?
- Si el equipo sencillamente se queda parado y no te deja iniciar sesión en modo texto ni responde el teclado (revisa la luz del bloqueo numérico) pensaría que puude deberse a algún tema de hardware o componentes, acpi o similar. La salida del "dmesg" puede decirte algo...
