[opensuse-es] Problema con Toshiba

Hola que al listeros!! Tengo un gran problema con una laptop toshiba modelo A505D-S6958, la cuestión es que recién le instale openSUSE 11.3; esta laptop se apaga constantemente, a veces esta dura 1 hora prendida y otras veces no dura ni 2 min después de que inicia el sistema. Ahora la pregunta, alguien sabe que le pasa a esta máquina?? En donde puedo mirar los errores?? Ah otra cosa esta maquina la tiene mi novia y esta esn otra provincia/estado así que si no les doy muchos detalles, sepan esperar hasta que ella me los de. -- Ing. Como ya se tocó el tema en otro hilo sobre KMS, y debido a un problema originado en los cambios de Xorg, por un lado, y del driver Catalyst por el otro, me habia aparecido un problema de unos rectángulos negros en el firefox. Hoy volví a probar, despues de hacer una limpieza de la tarjeta de video, para evitar fallas de hardware, y me encontré con el problema nuevamente, al pasar del driver radeon, al fglrx de Catalyst 10.7, el cual también aparecía con el driver empaquetado del repo ATI/opensuse. Probé a buscar con el Google, y me encontré con estos links: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI_Catalyst#Black.2Fgrey.2Fwhite_boxes… http://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2010/fedora-13-ati-catalyst-proprieta… Donde según dice, el problema aparece con algunas de las tarjetas de la serie 4600, y se debe a un cambio en el metodo de aceleración 2D, y la solución consiste en setear la aceleración con el metodo antiguo, ejecutando el comando como root: aticonfig --set-pcs-str=DDX,ForceXAA,TRUE Con ese seteo, se soluciona el problema de los rectangulos negros en el Firefox, pero acosta de una perdida de rendimiento. Con respecto al procedimiento para pasar del driver radeon al fglrx, es aproximadamente el mismo que se cita en el siguiente link para nvidia: http://www.groupsrv.com/linux/about161945.html En mi caso, debido al problema anterior fui y vine de un driver al otro varias veces, por lo que hice fue, una vez instalado el driver propietario, ya sea desde el repo, o a partir del instalador Catalyst: Yast -> /etc/sysconfig editor _> System -> Kernel seteando "NO_KMS_IN_INITRD" a "yes" . Luego en el mismo editor, System -> Bootloader, agregar nomodeset a las secciones "DEFAULT_APPEND" and "XEN_KERNEL_APPEND" El procedimiento anterior, se puede hacer editando directamente los archivos /etc/sysconfig/bootloader y /etc/sysconfig/kernel Luego de ese cambio, hay que ejecutar mkinitrd, para crear un nuevo initrd, y despues, crear la configuración del xorg para el driver propietario mediante el comando: "aticonfig --initial -f" y comentar la linea del archivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-device.conf #Driver "radeon" El instalador del driver fglrx, crea un archivo en /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-fglrx.conf o /etc/modprobe.d/fglrx.conf si se trata del driver empaquetado, que pone en la "lista negra" al driver radeon. Si uno decide volver del driver propietario al radeon, hay que hacer todo el procedimiento inverso, eliminando /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-fglrx.conf o /etc/modprobe.d/fglrx.conf , eliminando el archivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf, y sacando el comentario a la linea del archivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-device.conf Driver "radeon" y volviendo atras los cambios en los archivos /etc/sysconfig/bootloader y /etc/sysconfig/kernel y finalmente, ejecutar mkinitrd, para despues reiniciar con el driver radeon. [opensuse-es] opensuse 11.3 y Microsoft Exchange

Hola a todos En mi empresa han decidido cambiar de servidor de correo a Exchange, yo estaba utilizando Kontac y sincronizaba agenda y correo con el servidor. Ahora no se como hacerlo, he mirado con evolution y utilizar el plugin para exchnage pero dice que la versión de Exchange es la 5.5 y no la soporta. He intentado utilizar Evolution-mapi pero me da un error de login, por lo que he visto hay gente que se queja que no funciona. Alguna sugerencia. La empresa que está detrás de todo esto se llama Weta Digital, una compañía con sede en Wellington, Nueva Zelanda, que ya lleva un tiempo dando de que hablar en la industria cinematográfica. Weta Digital ha trabajado con los principales estudios para desarrollar producciones como El Señor de los Anillos, Yo Robot, Eragon y King Kong. La empresa ha construido un gran Data Center, necesario para desarrollar los efectos especiales que muchos ya han visto. Este Data Center está compuesto por 4.352 servidores HP Proliant BL2×220c G5 Blade con GNU/Linux, que sumados componen un total de 40.000 procesadores y 104 Terabytes de RAM. Todos los servidores se encuentran conectados mediante fibra óptica a un sistema de almacenamiento de 3 Petabytes de BluArc y NettApp. Para controlar las altas temperaturas producidas por esta gran cantidad de máquinas funcionando se desarrolló un sistema de refrigeración con agua, ya que los sistemas convencionales de pisos elevados y refrigeración por aire no pudieron controlar el calor constante producido por las máquinas al momento de desarrollar Avatar. Además este nuevo sistema permitió ahorrar un 40% en los costos de refrigeración del Data Center. Durante el desarrollo de Avatar, el Data Center funcionó las 24 horas del día, realizando entre 1,3 y 1,4 millones de tareas y procesando 7o8 Gigabytes de datos por segundo. Cada frame de la película fue de 12 Megabytes, esto quiere decir que por cada segundo de la película se utilizaron 288 MB (17,8 GB por minuto).
