Hi all,
is there a possibilty to tell the inetd to listen only on a specified network interface / IP-Adress. e.g. listen only on eth0 with the adress 192.168.1.1 ?
Hi Jan,
No, there isn't.
He who can read has an advantage:
execute the line
man -P "less -p'For internet services, the first field of the'" inetd
and you'll see that the stock inetd is also able to bind certain services to certain local addresses. Anyway the xinetd has also some other advantages. But don't tell fairytales to get people using xinetd!
thanks for the tip, it seems to work fine.... Jan
