inetd on a specified network interface

Yes and yes. See Yast and n(etwork) section. I don't know which packet you use. In SuSE 7.0 Pro xindet is inculded. If you don't have it, download it from www.xinetd.org. Philipp

No, there isn't.
He who can read has an advantage: execute the line man -P "less -p'For internet services, the first field of the'" inetd and you'll see that the stock inetd is also able to bind certain services to certain local addresses. Anyway the xinetd has also some other advantages. But don't tell fairytales to get people using xinetd! Best regards Henning Hucke -- New York is real. The rest is done with mirrors.
