Request to add repos to Github org

Hi, I would like to move the following repos to the openSUSE Github organization: https://github.com/avindra/suserpmutil https://github.com/avindra/deno The suserpmutil repo has utilities for vendoring Rust and Go modules. The scripts are rather simple but they get the vendor tarballs created with minimal effort. The deno repo is a fork relating to JavaScript; it concerns packaging deno with advanced versions of v8. Leap's yin to SLE's yang

Hi again. A good symbol to go along with the release of openSUSE Leap 15.3 I believe is the yin and yang. I propose that artwork to market this release show the symbiotic relationship of Leap and SLE with a yin yang design. The imagery should help with the marketing. GUADEC 2021 CfP

Hi all, GUADEC is taking place online July 21 - 25. The call for proposals <https://events.gnome.org/event/9/abstracts/> is open. The deadline for the CFP is March 22. This year's theme is "future-proofing FOSS," but sessions do not need to fit into the theme. They can relate to anything about GNOME, GNOME technologies, community and collaboration building, open source, and tech in general. Keynote speakers <https://events.gnome.org/event/9/page/88-keynote-speakers> speakers are Hong Phuc Dang and Shauna Gordon-McKeon. About 300 attendees are expected for the conference. v/r Doug

Report: Monthly Sprints - March 4

Hi all, I wanted to provide a little report from our sprint last night and hit on some points that perhaps the community can help with as there are some topics that could use some help. One of those is having a place to list tasks people can help with/contribute.This could provide a central location to direct people who might be willing to help the project. Some questions are how should we go about doing this?Wiki? Something else? Any suggestions? The last thing I would mention is that we were discussing the virtual desktop with shells.com for how to show openSUSE with the different DEs. The progress is ongoing. Announcing a new Treasurer

Hi folks, today it is my pleasure to thank two of our members, which is always a nice thing: Andrew Wafaa, for serving as our treasurer for many years and helping with the travel support program (TSP) among others. And Syds Bearda for stepping up and agreeing to become our new treasurer. Syds has been a financial controller/accountant for 15 years, in a variety of businesses and freelancing, and is an expert in "everything with computers and numbers". There is not a lot of travel going on these days, sadly (and Doug has been skillfully helping with TSP), but hopefully that will change. ;-) In addition Syds and me will be looking to create a budget overview around openSUSE with the help of colleagues at SUSE.
